CERAMIC CROWNS

Ceramic crowns are required when there is not enough natural tooth structure remaining or to replace old leaking or cosmetically inadequate crowns.

They’re also used to repair chips, cracks and similar damage. Crowns completely cover a damaged tooth. The unsightly metal typically associated with crowns are no longer necessary today, as Ceramic or Zirconium replaces the old metal structure to give you an all ceramic crown, that truly looks and feels like a real tooth. Starting with a digital impression of your mouth, a crown is designed on the Cerec machine and manufactured chair side, whilst you wait. The process in its entirety takes about 60 minutes. E.Max Ceramic from Ivoclar is our material of choice for Ceramic Crowns. It has a strength of 500 mpa and a natural wear on the opposing teeth which is similar to that of a normal tooth.
